THE BIO

Ashley Wilburn is a native of Hagerstown in Maryland. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School where she received her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's legal practice is focused on family law. She has a love for it. She focuses her practice on divorce cases, alimony issues, marital property division, child custody battles and child support arrangements. She also handles the post-divorce and enforcement of issues such as step-parent adoptions and private party adoptions as and concerns regarding child welfare. Ashley has been a court-appointed mediator since the year 2019. She assists parties in resolving their disputes without the need for court or litigation involvement. Ashley mediates private disputes as well as court-appointed mediation for individuals who want to avoid court proceedings and litigation.

After completing her undergraduate studies at Loyola University of Maryland, where she received dual Bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science, Ashley pursued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. Graduating in 2013, she excelled academically, securing a spot among the top 10 students in her class. While at law school, Ashley served as a Note Editor for the prestigious Western New England Law Review and demonstrated her dedication to legal scholarship and research.

Ashley began her clerkship path after completing her law degree. She was employed by renowned jurists from Connecticut and Maryland. She had the privilege of serving as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott at the Connecticut Appellate Court. Subsequently, in 2014, she returned to her home town of Hagerstown to clerk for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long at the Washington County Circuit Court, deepening her understanding of the local legal landscape. Learn more about Ashley Wilburn

Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. as an associate attorney. Her main focus within the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services in cases which involved child welfare. Ashley's dedicated efforts were instrumental in helping children who suffered neglect or abuse at the care of their parents or caregivers. Her commitment to social injustice went beyond her legal profession as she served as a member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She worked tirelessly to educate the public about human trafficking within the tri-state region.

In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the area of family law - divorce, child support, custody and guardianships as well as estate planning, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directive/healthcare proxy - and mediation.

Ashley created Wilburn Law Office, LLC 2023, with the aim of providing a personalized approach for every client's needs.
